The Maracanazo of July 16, 1950: the epic feat of Uruguay that today gives its name to a beer.

That they trust us to develop a product from scratch is a privilege and a challenge. The customer needed to position the beer midway between craft beers (quality ingredients, many varieties, and low volume production) and mass beers. 1950 is presented as a beer produced by hand with imported ingredients of excellent quality, in 5 varieties and with a high volume of production.

After exploring various paths, we opted for using a short name with much remembrance: 1950, a date that is present in all Uruguayans, with a color palette and retro aesthetics and a communication focused on its benefits: Quality and varieties to a competitive price.

Maracanazo is the name given to the victory of the Uruguayan soccer team in the final match of the 1950 Soccer World Cup against the Brazilian soccer team. Against all odds, Uruguay beat Brazil 2-1 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. By extension, the term has been generalized to define that victory of a team or athlete, preferably a final, in a foreign field and having all the factors against it.
